About
Toastmasters 2011
The Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking is an event like no other. It’s the Olympics of oratory — a competition that produces the top speakers from all over the world. Contestants advance to the finals after a year-long process of elimination through club, area and district speech competitions. The contest concludes at International Convention, where nine semifinals are held on Thursday, August 18. Winners of these semifinals will compete in the World Championship of Public Speaking.
And for the first time ever, Toastmasters International invites you to watch the finale to the 2011 International Speech Contest via live webstream from the comfort of your own home or office.
You can watch the contest as it happens on August 20 at 8 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), or at your convenience from 3 p.m. PDT August 20 through 3 p.m. PDT August 21. (Time Zone Converter)
